Empowering the Next Generation: Organizing Akwa Ibom’s First ICT Competition for Secondary Schools

In a groundbreaking initiative to nurture young talent and drive technological innovation, I had the privilege of hosting the First Akwa Ibom ICT Competition for Secondary Schools, involving participants from across all 31 Local Government Areas of the state. This initiative, birthed by the Tech Affairs Community, aimed to identify and cultivate technical skills among the youth while fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving.

The competition saw overwhelming participation, with over 185 schools taking part in a series of rigorous challenges designed to test their ICT knowledge and creativity. After an inspiring display of talent and determination, 8 winners emerged victorious. As part of the initiative’s impact, we facilitated scholarships for these outstanding students, ensuring their continued growth and development in the tech field.

This project was not only endorsed by the Akwa Ibom State Government but also became a beacon of hope for countless young people aspiring to make a mark in the tech industry. It was a humbling and rewarding experience to witness the transformative power of such initiatives in unlocking potential and empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
